Mother-in-law house plans or Home Plans with a Guest Suite.
House plans with Mother-in-law quarters or a guest suite have become more popular over the last few years. It is expected that due to the problems in the housing market we are seeing more and more families consider multi-generation homes for economical reasons. The Mother-in-Law suite home plans differ from the home plans with two master suites only by the fact that they have additional rooms beyond the second master suite. These additional rooms are typically kitchenettes (small kitchens), a bathroom, and a small living area. Garage apartment plans are sometimes used for the purpose of an in-law suite but typically the additional quarters will be attached to the main floor plans of the home.
Our advice is to stay friendly with the in-laws because they may live with you some day.
